Read Now Browser Reader FAQ

Are all titles available in the Read Now format?
Not every title is available for reading within your browser. Currently, over 90% of Axis 360 digital titles are offered in this format, and we are working to increase that number.

Do I need to download any software?
No. Your title will open in your browser automatically. You will need to allow pop-ups within your browser, and some browsers will ask you if it’s okay to store files on your computer. You’ll need to allow this if you want your eBook to be saved for offline access.

Which browsers are supported?
You can use the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge with ReadNow.

Is there a preferred browser?
We recommend that you use the native browser for the device you’re using. For example, Mac and iOS devices should use Safari. Chrome is the preferred browser for laptops and Android devices.

Can I read offline?
Yes! Just click on Offline Access to save your eBook for browser reading when you’re offline. Remember to bookmark your eBook for easy access when you aren’t online. 

My title won’t open. What should I do?
Make sure you have your pop-up blocker turned off in your browser, and then refresh your screen.

Can I return a title early from the Read Now website?
No. At this time, you will need to use the Axis 360 mobile app to return your titles early. You will be able to return titles early via the Axis 360 website in our next release.

How do I view the Table of Contents and other menu items?
Simply hover at the top of your browser window, and then click on the menu icon in the upper left corner of your page. A linkable Table of Contents will display.

Can I take notes and highlight text?
Yes! Just use the tool options located in the upper right corner of your browser window.

Can I create bookmarks?
Yes! Just use the Bookmark option located in the upper right corner of your browser window.

Will the notes, highlights, and bookmarks I’ve added while offline be available if I access my book via Read Now on another device?
Yes! Any note, highlight, or bookmark created while offline will automatically sync with the cloud when you are back online. You’ll need to reconnect to the internet for this to happen. Once you’re back online and the data is synced, it will be available any time you access your book via the Read Now browser Reader.

The font is too small! Can I change it?
Yes! Just like above, simply go to the tool options in the upper right corner of your browser window. Click on the A icon to change your font size, background color, and page layout. Please note that some eBooks are in a fixed format, set by the publisher, and cannot have the font changed.

I share my browser with someone else. How can I keep my saved content private?
Just log out of the browser reader when you end your session. You’ll be asked to enter your login ID when you access your saved content offline.

Is there a limit to the number of devices I can use for offline reading?
Yes. Just like with the other formats available with Axis 360, the number of devices you can use is set by the publisher and could be limited. If you reach the limit, you’ll receive an error message indicating that you’ve downloaded the title on too many devices.
